In this class we will read parts of four different books. First you will need Walter Brueggemann's The Prophetic Imagination. A little later in the semester we will read Renita Weems book, Battered Love. We will also read the section on the Prophets (pages 201-380) from Barry Bandstra's Reading the Old Testament. Each student will also read one chapter from Phyllis Trible's Texts of Terror: Literary-Feminist Readings of Biblical Narratives.
